Yellowstone National Park - Lodging and Food

There are many options available when it comes to staying and eating in Yellowstone National Park. YNP offers over 2000 rooms in 9 lodges and 12 campgrounds that provide over 1,700 sites that accommodate everything from walk-in camping to large RV's. When it comes to eating in the park there are 3 cafeterias, 5 dining rooms, 3 restaurants and over 17 different grills, snack shops and stores that people can choose from for a quick bite. Lodges & Cabins

All hotels and lodges require reservations and are typically booked solid early in the year. Occasionally a cancellation will happen; however I would strongly advise against planning on a cancellation for your stay as they do re-book quickly.

Canyon Lodge and Cabins

Canyon Lodge is only open for the summer months and is located in the eastern side of YNP. The Lodge has over 500+ rooms that have recently undergone a complete overhaul and will re-open for the 2015 season. During the 2015 season prep work will begin for an additional 3 lodges with many of the cabins being removed to make room for the new Lodges. Unfortunately, there are no new photos at this time. Grant Village

Grant Village is only open for the summer months and is located in the central southern area of YNP. The Village has 50 rooms in 6 2 story buildings. Unfortunately, there are no photos at this time. (Xantera - Grant Village, 2014)

Lake Hotel and Cabins

Lake Hotel is only open for the summer months and is located in the eastern side of YNP just up the road from Lake Lodge. Lake Hotel offers 110 cabins and 194 rooms all of which have a private bath. The Lake Hotel has recently completed a series of renovations restoring the Hotel to its Colonial Revival heritage. (Xantera - Lake Hotel, 2014)

Lake Lodge is only open for the summer months and is located in the eastern side of YNP. The Lodge offers 186 recently renovated cabins all of which have a private bath. The main building offers a large porch complete with rockers and open lake view that is perfect for relaxing. (Xantera - Lake Lodge, 2014)

Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel and Cabins

Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel and Cabins are open year round and are located just inside the North Entrance of YNP. Mammoth Hotel offers both rooms and cabins with and without a private bath. There is even a Hot Tub Cabin available. While visiting the Mammoth area stop in and see the Map Room so named for the large wooden map made from 15 different woods from 9 countries. Old Faithful Inn

Old Faithful Inn is only open for the summer months and is located in the central southern area of YNP. Old Faithful Inn offers 327 rooms, most of which have a private bathroom. Old Faithful Inn offers viewing porches for watching Old Faithful errupt. (Xantera - Old Faithful Inn, 2014)

Old Faithful Lodge is only open for the summer months and is located in the central southern area of YNP. The Lodge only offers cabins to stay in but the main building offers a long porch and indoor viewing area for watching Old Faithful errupt. (Xantera - Old Faithful Lodge, 2014)

Roosevelt Lodge Cabins

Roosevelt Lodge is only open for the summer months and is located in the central northern area of YNP. Roosevelt Lodge only offers cabins some of which have a privte bath. The Roughrider cabins are heated with wood burning stoves and have communal showers and baths near by. (Xantera - Roosevelt, 2014)

Snow Lodge is open in the summer months with limited open dates in the winter months and is located in the central southern area of YNP in the Old Faithful area. Built in 1999, this Lodge was the newest of the lodges in the Park. Snow Lodge offers both rooms and cabins all with private bath. Note: Snow Lodge is only available by snow cat, snowmobile and skis in the winter so please plan your travel accordingly. (Xantera - Snow Lodge, 2014)

Camping

Tent Camping May 2012

There are 12 campgrounds total in YNP. Seven (7) campgrounds are operated by the park and work on a first come first serve basis. These campagrounds will typically fill by mid morning at the heigh of tourist season and have a variety of amenities. The other five (5) campgrounds are operated by Xantera and accept reservations.(YNP - Camping, 2014)
